AUSTIN, Texas — Family, friends, colleagues, and members of Austin’s technology community are mourning the tragic loss of Kristen Davis Marroquin, a respected customer success executive, devoted wife, and loving mother who died following a traffic collision in South Austin on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
Kristen’s passing has left a profound void among those who knew her personally and professionally. She is survived by her husband, Rudy Marroquin, their two young children, and a wide network of family members, friends, and colleagues who remember her for her leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.
According to authorities, emergency crews responded to the 500 block of East Ben White Boulevard’s westbound service road at approximately 5:42 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian using a wheelchair. First responders with Austin-Travis County EMS arrived to find Kristen suffering from critical injuries. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Austin Police Department’s Vehicular Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Police have stated that the driver involved remained at the scene and has cooperated with investigators. No additional information regarding the investigation has been released.
A lifelong Austin resident and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kristen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations before building an accomplished career in enterprise software and customer success leadership.
At the time of her passing, she served as Senior Manager of Global Strategic Customer Success at Procore Technologies, where she led customer success initiatives for some of the company’s largest strategic accounts. Colleagues recognized her for combining operational excellence with an authentic leadership style focused on mentorship, collaboration, and long-term customer partnerships.
Before joining Procore, Kristen spent approximately nine years with Bazaarvoice, advancing through multiple leadership positions while supporting enterprise clients in the United States and internationally. Her ability to develop high-performing teams and foster meaningful customer relationships earned her widespread respect throughout the software industry.
Kristen often described her leadership philosophy as one centered on authenticity, accountability, and curiosity. She believed people performed at their best when they felt trusted, supported, and empowered to grow, principles that guided her throughout her professional career.
Outside of work, Kristen’s greatest passion was her family. Friends say she embraced motherhood with tremendous joy and often shared advice and encouragement with other parents. Those who knew her describe her as generous with both her time and knowledge, always willing to mentor friends navigating new stages of life.
