Christian’s passion for the ocean and his desire to serve others ultimately led him to the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. There, he pursued a degree in Management while embracing the demanding responsibilities of military training and education.
During his time at the academy, Christian continued his soccer career as a member of the Coast Guard Bears men’s soccer team. Standing out as a strong defender, he demonstrated the same discipline, teamwork, and determination that defined his athletic career and personal character.
Following his training, Christian dedicated himself to active duty with the United States Coast Guard, serving in a role focused on maritime safety, search and rescue efforts, and protecting coastal communities. His commitment to helping others reflected the values of service and responsibility that guided his life.
Beyond his achievements in sports and the military, Christian was remembered most importantly as a loving son, brother, and friend. He was the son of Carl and Elaine Riozzi-Bodine and a caring sibling to Ethan and Alayna. Those close to him described him as a protective, dependable, and compassionate person who valued his family and community deeply.
Christian came from a family with a proud tradition of military service, with his father having served in the United States Air Force and his uncle serving in the United States Army. His own dedication to the Coast Guard continued that legacy of commitment and sacrifice.
